Twittering Politics
Tuesday, if you live in America you probably had to see the press conference given by the President. I thought it was boring but i manage to pay attention to the last part. Anyway, one thing you may have noticed if you were watching closely was that almost everyone there was on their phone or on their computer. I wanted to know what they were all busy doing, later i found out they were twittering! If you don’t know what tweeter is, it’s basically a networking site, Almost similar to blogging except you write small sentences. The thing that most stood out of this, was that the senators and all those who attended, sounded like high school students when they commented on Tweeter. They were all like- oh my god i can’t believe this guy is here! or the guy seating next to me is a grouch! I have to agree, I was amazed Senator McCain Tweetered! In fact i didn’t know he or any Senator knew how to use the internet. The thing I disliked was that, the media tried to say they shouldn’t be able to use cell phones or be busy tweetering while the President was giving his speech. I know listening shows respect, but come on! As everyone knows speeches are boring and I think it’s better for the politics telling everyone on what they are thinking and letting them express what they want to say in common terms than having them use confusing words that at the end explain nothing! It’s the 21st century, soon the President is going to be accessible on Facebook or some other social site. So get used to it!
