Make Money Online!

Have you ever tried to make some money online?

I have, I think I’ve tried every website out there that you can possibly earn money from. If you search on Google for “ways to make money” or “make money on the internet” you will get an overwhelming result page. It’s the biggest search query out there along with being the most popular subject online. I got hooked when I visited a particular website and made 70 dollars in one month. From that day, I have dedicated all my time looking on the internet for more ways to make money.

Common ways to make money

Some common methods used to make “internet money” are- PTC sites, PTC stands for paid to click, by the way. Along with writing articles, advertising and blogging, and surveys. Some work and some don’t, I personally lost all hope in surveys. To make sure they work and are not just a scam look at their reputation, if the website looks like it can’t afford to stay up then move on. Also, check if it has many advertisers and lastly look it up on Google. Most likely, if they pay there will be positive things said about them. If they are a scam you will see all the complaints and negativeness. One more hint I would like to give you all is, to never pay for a way to make money, NEVER. If you are trying to make money why pay to do it? It should all be free.

1238596635aag1dd.jpg

So do they actually pay?

That’s the first thing you might ask. And the answer to that is- It depends. Yes, quite disappointing, that’s the only possible answer.Because It depends on the website, it depends on how hard you try, it depends on others, it depends on time, and it depends on your luck. All these dependents are the ones which decide if you make any money. A definite way to make money is by writing articles. There are a few I like With PTC sites you never know, they may pay, but it will take time. I particularly found Bux.to to be a great site to earn. You get a 32 ads a day, and paid through Alertpay and checks. These are just a few ways to make money on the internet. I will keep posting more ways.

Help Arfie!

Published by psynopsis under Websites Edit This

Do you use Dogpile for your search engine needs? Well, if you don’t you should. Dogpile is a metasearch engine, which means they gather results from multiple search engines. Currently they are receiving results from Google, Yahoo, MSN Search, Ask , About, MIVA, LookSmart, and more.

dogpile.jpg

It used to be my default search engine, but like most search engines other than Google, they become forgotten and we stop using them altogether. Well, today I decided to stop by and check on their donation drive. They started a Donation drive last year to help animal charities. If you use Dogpile, they will add a few cents to the Donation drive, which I found out this year they already collected $401,942 and some cents. Although, by the time you read this it will be much higher. They focus on animal charities, specifically where dogs are involved, due to Arfie and the name of the search is Dogpile why else?. Arfie is Dogpile’s mascot, you can see him everytime you visit Dogpile by the way.

The Donation Drive is called Search & Rescue, join to in the fight to end animal cruelty and find loving homes for all adoptable pets. Just search the Web through the Dogpile Search & Rescue program. An you can also set Dogpile as your preferred search engine. I can’t because I am using Chrome as my browser and IE and Firefox are the only ones that can support the feature right now. But I am doing my part in promoting Search $ Rescue, and I placed an easy to use search box, on the right. Take a look!

iPhone Apps- Reviewed

So, have you seen the current commercials by Apple? Have you realized that they are focused on the apps instead of the phone now? Apparently, they have seen how the apps attract more customers than the actual phone. I personally got intrigued at how many things can be done with those apps. So, I went to get more info on each one, to see what kinds of amazing things each one does. That’s why I compiled a description of each one, well a few.
Note: Not all are free and not all for sale, which means they are free.

iphone-apps.jpg

1.Locavore- If you’re into eating local as in buying produce from farmers markets and eating locally grown fruits and vegetables. This app is for you, it detects what State your in, then the food that’s in season. As well as farmer markets nearby, food that is near it’s season and links to Wikipedia’s articles on the fruits or vegetables. Note: This app is currently available on to the USA. This is a paid app.

2. Go! Manga- This app lets you read manga anywhere you go! As long as you have Wi-fi of course. Works like a book, you f”flip” the pages by tapping the screen. Soon to be available offline. Currently free.

3.The Holy Bible King James Version- Religious? Here is a easily portable bible. You can take it anywhere and supper easy to read, well to techies anyway. This currently is a paid version, but the free version is available in the app store as well.

4. iPhactory- Okay, this app at first makes you wonder why you would need it, but if you like to conserve the environment you will understand. The app let’s you virtually grow a tree. You dig a hole plant a seed, create storms and let some sun in then watch it grow. You can then share the growth with others by email. Paid app

5. PetMD (Cat First Aid)- Of all the apps in the store this one particular app caught my attention in a heartbeat. It provides you with all kinds of emergencies your cat may have. From poisoning to heart attacks, you are given a solution to whatever can happen. Created by PetMD, and approved by vets. If you love your cat I would recommend downloading it, or simply run around in panic if something happens. By the way the app shows you how to use CPR.

phone.jpg

6.Radiation Passport- If you feel you been exposed to radiation this app will tell you if you are in danger. Of course it doesn’t actually show measure the radiation, you have to input data. For example, the time you spent in taking x-rays, how many you have had throughout your life and etc. It gives you the cancer risks too. Paid app.

7.Dream Psychology- This app is based on the book. Anything you want to know about the meaning of dreams.

Digg toolbar is worth crap! It steals your Google PageRank

Published by psynopsis under Techno News, Websites Edit This

If you use Digg to promote your website, blog or simply use it to easily view content across the web, don’t use it. There’s a small “problem” with it. Actually it’s not a problem, I would say it’s a rather convenient feature for Digg. Okay, enough rambling here is what’s going on.

The toolbar was created with the intent of promoting content from Digg. The thing is, when you click on a link on the Digg toolbar. It gives your traffic to Digg, and thus steals your google PageRank. So, any traffic generated through the toolbar will be counted as traffic for Digg, instead or your website or blog. Then after all that, it places it’s own ads on top of the ones found on the website you are on. It really is a great “scam” except you can’t do anything about it because it’s perfectly legal. It’s great for Digg but not for other website.

digg1.jpg

After, some complains Digg is thinking about editing the toolbar, but most likely it will just change it up a bit. Probably, just to confuse everyone for a while.

HDTV WINNER EVERYDAY!

Published by psynopsis under Websites, free stuff Edit This

-1

Yep, you read correctly! Charter communications a Fortune 500 company and the fourth-largest cable operator in the United States, has started yet another sweepstakes this year. Last year Charter communications gave away laptops and Xbox 360 game systems and one customer drove away a 2009 Honda Civic Hybrid. The contest is part of their website, which was created to help their new and upgrading customers make their own service bundle, that meets their personal needs.

If you happen to sign up with communications this month you will be entered to win one of the daily prices and perhaps even the grand prize. Which is, stated above, a 52” LCD flat screen HDTV, a Home Theater System, and one year of free Charter Digital Cable® service with HD programming. If you want to make Charter your service provider for phone, Cable or high speed internet. Visit their website at www.Charter.com .

Make sure you talk to their customer service first to see if they provide service for your area. They offer online chat, which I find easier to communicate through. To see how much you can save if you switch from your current provider. Remember, some service providers have hidden fees, so check if Charter is the right one for you.

Twitter “Easter” Scavenger Hunt, Win A Prize!

Published by psynopsis under Websites, free stuff Edit This

Since, it’s almost Easter and one of the activities of Easter is egg hunts. I decided to see what kinds of “hunts’ there are around Cyberspace. I found one that will interest you if you have a twitter account. This could be your chance to win some cool prizes! Every week, tweetaprize gives away a prize to their followers, which is provided by their sponsors.

To win the weekly prize you have to follow tweetaprize and play the scavenger hunt.See, I told you I found a fun online “prize hunt”. The prizes aren’t junk if that’s what you’re thinking: EVERY prize will be worth AT LEAST $75, and they screen out the “lame” ones.

logo1.jpg

The scavenger Hunt, consists receiving links to sponsors websites where you will find the clue you need to find the answer to the contest. If you are the first one to submit the correct answer you win the prize shown! So what’s the catch? There isn’t one! There WILL be a winner EVERY week: guaranteed.

TweetAPrize

I am already following them, It seems fun and a good way to provide advertiser with click troughs. Oh.. that reminds me, you can also become and advertiser and get a ton of traffic or if you are selling a product a good way to let everyone know. I believe this is a great way to advertise, you get possible customers involved, they win something, you make a sale, receive traffic to your website or blog. If you want to join the scavenger hunt just follow tweetaprize on Twitter.

Here’s the link!

Follow us on Twitter and win a prize

tweetaprize-2.png

RULES and other information you might need to know!

To win:
1) You have to be following @tweetaprize.

2) You have to have tweeted our entry tweet during the prize week by clicking the link next to step #2 on the bottom of the screen! That INCLUDES actually clicking “Update” when taken to Twitter.

3) You have to be 18+ years old, OR have your parents permission.

4) We have to be able to ship TO YOU from our address (USA, zip: 49242) for under $15. Most of the prizes are small in size and a pound or less, so this isn’t a problem at all in the U.S., and usually not international.

If you’re international and you still want to win, you’ll have to cover the difference up-front. So if it costs us $30 to ship to you, you’ll have to pay $15 before we can ship it. Sorry! We didn’t want to restrict the contest to U.S. only, so this is our only other option. If an international player wins the contest and decides he/she doesn’t want to pay the shipping, the award will then be given to the 1st runner up, and so on down the line.

5) You have to be the FIRST to respond, following all our instructions. If the correct answer is “Abraham Lincoln” and you’re the first respondant but say “George Washington”, you don’t win. Judging is up to us, but we’ll be pretty lenient on close calls.

6) For all “Who was first?” disputes, we’ll refer to Twitter Search for the official timestamp.

Rent Books Online

We all know Netflix is a great way to rent movies you can choose from all new releases and you get them delivered to your door. No more having to drive all the way to Blockbuster or some other video rental store. Now the same concept is being done with books. Bookswim.com is a website where you can rent books, all the way from new releases to older literature.

Bookswim is styled after Netflix, you pay a monthly membership fee and you get unlimited amounts of books. Right now, they are having a 50% off your membership for the first month. All books sent to you from your book queue are shipped free to and from. You can even rent college textbooks which will save you at least 60% in one semester.

bookswim_com-400-400-3.jpg

I really like this system because I can’t always got to the library. I have at least a $10 dollar fine at my library due to late returns. So, I signed up on Bookswim, because they have no late fees and it’s easier to find a book I will read online. Have you ever tried searching for a book at a large library, using the system they have? Last time, I spent 30 minutes going around a bookshelf trying to go through the alphabet. Another, cool thing about Bookswim is that they plant a tree in honor of your gift. Your tree helps balance out new book paper production through a partnership with Eco-Libris.

Excerpt from Bookswim’s goals on helping the environment

Everyone is concerned about our planet’s dwindling resources, and the easiest first step we can all take is conservation.
Twenty million trees are cut down every year for American book production. BookSwim encourages book rental, rather than purchasing new books, in part because it helps reduce that staggering figure.
Additionally, the bags BookSwim uses to ship books to and from our subscribers are made from 100% recycled plastic.
Finally, by receiving books by mail, rather than constantly driving to and from the bookstore or library, BookSwim helps Americans save quite literally millions of gallons of gas every year.
BookSwim knows that it’s both good business and good conscience to take care of the Earth, so we go a step further - for every gift card we sell, we plant a tree through a partnership with EcoLibris.net

Dolphin Bubbles

Published by psynopsis under Websites Edit This

Do you love dolphins? Do you want to know evrything you can about them?
Well if you do, here is a blog just for that. Dolphinbubbles.com is a blog dedicated to Dolphins, inspired by the Dolphins in Sea World in Orlando. It was created with the goal of teaching not only children but adults as well, about the nature of these amazing mammals. The blog has worksheets, videos, photos and facts.

dolphin.jpg

I really like the whole water theme, as well as the video of the air bubbles. If you watched World News with Charles Gibson, a while ago you probably saw the video of some Seaworld dolphins playing with circular air bubbles, underwater! The bubbles actually stay below water.

air-bubbles.jpg

All the experts say it’s possible because of the shape the bubbles are molded into. In my opinion I say dolphins have telepathic abilities, either that or they really are smarter than us! You can view the video shown on ABC at

Toast your Screen

Published by psynopsis under Websites, free stuff Edit This

screentoaster2.jpg

If you have ever tried to make a screenshot, you have probably realized creating them is very difficult and if it’s not difficult then it’s expensive. If you don’t know what a screenshot is here is an excerpt from Wikipedia-

A screenshot, screen capture, or screen dump is an image taken by the computer to record the visible items displayed on the monitor or another visual output device. Usually this is a digital image taken by the host operating system or software running on the computer device, but it can also be a capture made by a camera or a device intercepting the video output of the computer.

Screenshots, screen dumps, or screen captures can be used to demonstrate a program, a particular problem a user might be having or generally when computer output needs to be shown to others or archived, or to simply show off what you do on your computer to others

Creating a screenshot usually requires buying and installing software. Which not only does it take time but it also takes your computer’s memory space. Well, Thanks to Screentoaster a website, which uses Java to record your computer screen. You can record online without the software. All you need to do is create an account. It records in real time to rapidly create and share tutorials, demos, training, lectures and more.

You can add audio and embed a webcam while you are recording. When finished, just add subtitles, choose your thumbnail, describe and tag your video so other users can easily find your screencasts. A cool feature added in, is easily uploading to YouTube it’s as easy as pressing a button, literally. Although, once you upload it to YouTube a watermark will appear at the bottom so everyone knows you created the video with Screentoaster’s service, which in my opinion is a fair trade. Not many great tools like this one, can be used free of charge specially if they are this innovative.

screentoaster.jpg

I personally really enjoy this new tool, except I use Google Chrome as my personal browser and Java is still not compatible with the browser. So I have to use Firefox whenever I record something. Another, small problem I found was that you need to have Java installed. Although, easily fix by following the link given to you by the website or going to Java.com to download it. It’s still great and I was told Java is trying to make it available to Chrome users as soon as possible.

The Fix it Club

I spend a lot of time breaking things and buying new ones, not to mention spending money. I decided to search the internet for a solution to my problem and I found one. I found this website that shows you tutorials and how to’s, on fixing anything. The name of the site is The Fix it Club, you can visit the site at Fixitclub.com. The Fix-It Club ® is founded and operated by Dan Ramsey and Judy Ramsey, authors of If It’s Broke, Fix It! and many other how-to books for homeowners and consumers. Their books are available through the Fix-It Book Club and at bookstores everywhere.

fix.jpg

The website may seem a little cluttered at first sight, but I assure you it has a tutorial for anything that can possibly break. I was looking forward to fixing my old laptop. If you read my previous post on how to buy a new computer, you may remember that I bought a new computer because my old one was, well old. It wasn’t broken just outdated, so I didn’t get rid of it instead I kept it, hoping I would have time to repair it a bit. I finally got the time yesterday to see what I could do to improve it. That’s when I discovered the site, and found some articles there, that have been extremely helpful to me. If you have something you would like to repair whether it’s something electronic a home repair or a plumbing repair visit the website.
